The Quali-Drone project worked on an automated drone inspection of surface damage on turbine foundations via artificial intelligence and digital twins. The partners of the Quali-Drone project developed an autonomous drone inspection solution that can be used to photograph, scan, and analyze the condition of the wind turbine foundation from production to shipment and arrival at the offshore wind farm where the foundation is to be installed.

The innovation project Common Equipment Towers addressed this challenge by designing and testing a shared transport and storage solution for offshore wind turbine towers. The final equipment is flexible, can be mounted on different truck brands, and is available through a rental system. This new solution reduces transportation costs for the wind industry by enabling the supply chain to use the same equipment for transporting tower sections from different suppliers, similar to how standard containers or the Euro pallet are used in other industries.

Participants in the H2SMAN innovation project have developed, installed, and tested a new measurement and dosing system on two offshore oil and gas installations in the Danish North Sea. The system includes a newly developed sensor that provides precise measurements of the hydrogen sulfide levels in the extracted gas. The sensor data is then used to fine-tune the dosing of H₂S scavenger, ensuring that hydrogen sulfide levels remain low before the gas is transported onshore. This eliminates the need for environmentally and economically costly overdosing of H₂S scavenger.

In Denmark, research and development in 3D printing for the wind industry has primarily focused on producing large components, such as those for blade manufacturers. The 3D Printed Fixtures innovation project has shifted this focus by helping participating SMEs establish a foothold in the commercial use of 3D printing.

The innovation project "Concrete for Wave Energy" has investigated the possibilities of using concrete and developed a new guide that can be used in the construction of future wave power plants. The guide is based on analyses of two specific wave power plants with different production designs, both of which use steel. The project outlines the possibilities for developing wave power technology to compete with other renewable energy forms, including the use of reinforced concrete instead of steel structures.

In the innovation project ISR, several partners collaborated to develop and test a new prototype for a rescue ladder capable of operating effectively under lower light conditions. The project also enhanced the ladder by integrating a system for monitoring its status and adding a wireless communication module for long-range monitoring and interaction. Additionally, the project developed an installation guide as a mobile app. This app ensures the proper installation of rescue ladders by simulating solar radiation at the desired location and, using knowledge of the ladder’s energy consumption, helps optimize its placement.

In the innovation project Energy Storage in Gravel and Steel, a new concept for energy storage was tested on a 1:10 mini-scale at DTU Risø. Specifically, the setup consisted of a pile of stones inside a steel cylinder, where surplus energy from wind turbines and solar installations was stored as heat. This heat could then be converted back into electricity when needed. The project also examined which of the two materials—gravel or steel—was better suited as a storage medium.

The proposed solution aimed to overcome these challenges by leveraging industrial LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) databases and combining them with company-specific data to provide precise, tailored, and actionable insights. By applying advanced data analysis and modeling techniques, this solution would analyze the environmental impact of different decisions made (including energy efficiency) and quantify the resulting greenhouse gas emissions. This insight allowed companies to make informed decisions and understand the potential benefits of alternative choices aimed at emissions reduction.

By using Generative AI to analyze the available data, a chatbot will respond to how to optimize the energy labeling for a given building based on a comprehensive understanding of the entire dataset. This makes the process more efficient and the answers more qualified, as they are based on the information from the entire database, providing better conditions to predict the best path for improving a building's energy label.

The EuroGrid innovation project has developed a digital platform that provides improved forecasts for renewable energy supply, electricity supply, and electricity prices across European countries

In the OiW project, an innovative technology was developed to measure oil-in-water (both droplets and dissolved) using advanced 3D fluorescence spectroscopy (a method that uses light to capture data), combined with advanced data processing. The measurement technology was then integrated into a control solution for use in a hydrocyclone-based process to extract excess oil from the produced water.
